Last year, Boveda announced that it would no longer sell its popular Acrylic Humidors, which left many wanting a way to buy the relatively affordable and easy-to-maintain humidors. Some companies have filled the void. Northwoods Humidor—an Illinois-based humidor retailer—announced that it would sell a model that appears virtually identical, save for some logos, to the ones that Boveda was selling before the discontinuation.
Now, Industrial Cigar Co.—a Frisco, Texas-based retailer—has announced that it will sell three different versions of acrylic humidors and it plans to offer them to other retailers. Wine Cooler Drinks
In addition, there’s an optional LED-base ($119) that can be placed below the 75ct and 150ct humidors that will allow for remote control lighting.
This is not Industrial’s first time selling acrylic humidors. It’s updated the new versions with thicker acrylic, flat lids, more ventilation in the included tray and easier-to-grab handles. In addition, it added the 30ct and 150ct sizes.
For consumers that purchase the humidors through Industrial between now and Oct. 31, they will receive up three Integra Boost packs per year for the life of the humidor. Integra Boost is a two-way humidification and, ironically, one of Boveda’s competitors in the humidification space.
“The performance we have seen in our previously released acrylic humidors has been simply unmatched.” said Dave Frakes, co-owner of Industrial Cigar Co., in a press release. “There’s something special about aging in a cedar humidor, but there’s something to be said about a truly hassle free cigar storage solution for those who don’t want to be constantly checking in on their collection.”
